Introduction

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 turned out to be an absolute hit. There was a lot to it. From the sleek design to the high performance and unique shape, people just couldn’t get enough of this device. Thanks to the reduced price, it was very attractive to customers. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 takes over the baton of this exceptional device. Samsung has made incredible improvements and improvements to the device, creating a phone that has the potential to surpass its popular predecessor.

Design

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 retains the signature clamshell foldable form factor. Samsung did not make any major design changes, but improved the shape and surface of the device. The Armor Aluminum body is strong and durable with a glossy frame finish and flatter edges. The matte-colored panels contrast very nicely with it.

The hinge is slightly smaller this time. Samsung also offers the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Bespoke Edition with 75 possible color combinations to choose from. The Bespoke Edition is available to customers in 28 countries worldwide.

Specs

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 delivers flagship-level performance as it is powered by a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. There is 8GB of RAM with up to 512GB of available storage. However, there is a microSD card slot for external expansion.

Samsung equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 4 with a 12% larger 3,700 mAh battery compared to the 3,300 mAh battery of the Galaxy Z Flip 4. The fingerprint sensor is, as before, present in the power button.

Display

A larger cover display is one of the improvements that Samsung has made on this device. The 1.9-inch cover display allows users to do more without having to disassemble the device. This includes snapping quick replies to messages, controlling settings, accessing Samsung Pay, taking portraits, and more.

The internal folding display is the same size of 6.7 inches with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. The flexible panel also has durability improvements. However, there is no S Pen support.

Camera

The primary dual camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor with OIS and Dual Pixel AF. The sensor is larger and the pixel size has also been increased for brighter results in low-light conditions.

It is paired with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There’s also a 10-megapixel selfie camera on top of the internal display. The lack of a proper telephoto lens is something many fans wished Samsung would address with this iteration.

The Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with Android 12 and One UI 4.1.1 out of the box. The device is eligible for four major OS upgrades, so it covers up to Android 16. The One UI 5.0 upgrade for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 should be available before the end of 2022.
